We arrived in New Zealand in November 2003 - the start of the summer there. It was a real treat leaving the sun of Brisbane in October and not going home to the british winter!

We travelled mainly through the south island leaving much of our things at friends in Auckland. We took local buses, went from Queenstown to Te Anau, visited the milford sound, walked the Keplar Track in the rain and wind, met rare birds and friendly people who gave us lifts to new spots on the map. Even ran into an old friend from Pompey waiting for a bus! Truly a beautiful country with a new photo waiting to be taken at every turn.
